We went down to look at the new bees last night and they have settled in well. They were all trundling in and out with white clover pollen, which made each bee look as if it was carrying two large laundry bags.

We have also had a ton of fruit - mainly blackcurrants. T has been making jam like a mad thing. I picked about 3 lbs of redcurrants last night and a few raspberries, but the raspberries haven't done much this year - it's been too wet.

In more exciting news, I was halfway through an email just now when T said, in those don't-argue-with-me tones, 'Open the DOOR! NOW!' So I ran to do just that and encountered him with a blazing frying pan. He threw it into the garden, scattering dogs and cats (far from being alarmed, Sid gave me a 'Whoah. Cool!' look, which is typical of Sid, teenage boy in cat's body). T is OK, if slightly singed, but the pan isn't, and it was my favourite omelette pan, too. Still, it's an excuse for a trip to the kitchen store...

Odd that, we've been drowning in raspberries. The rain has damaged a lot, but it has still been a very good crop. The blackcurrants are only just starting to ripen, but they are looking ominous. What do you do with all the jam? He have trouble getting rid of it if we make it. - Cheryl

We have made enough jam for the next 300 years! And are giving it away...
