We just got the results of T's scan back from the consultant oncologist. There's no sign of any residual cancerous cells, either in the throat or the lymph system. He's officially in remission.

A huge thank you, to everyone, for your support throughout this. It's been an ordeal; I'm glad it's over and I hope this horrific disease never returns. Please keep us in your prayers from time to time. And to everyone who is still going through it: hang in there. You're in our thoughts, too.

Much love and congrats from this side of the Pond, and wishes for continued good health.

And now that he *is* healthy, you should make him groom the ponies. Because you've probably gone easy on him for a while, what with his whole "I'm sick" routine.

Many thanks!

I've gone easy on him but he won't go easy on himself...he's been out with a chainsaw this morning (no, NOT on the horses! ;-). )

After reading about T, I can't imagine any other result... had I been a cancer, I would have said within a few days of appearing, "Um, folks, we have the -wrong- host. The wrong host. This one's not gonna give an inch." And then fled!

Such wonderful news for T and his fighting spirit. Bravo to him, and to you for your support. :)

I didn't blog about this but a lot of shamanic work did get done, following the recommendation of someone who had worked with their own cancer until it left. This is into woo-woo and out the other side, but I've seen too much weird stuff in my life to dismiss it.

I am so pleased to hear this. Having lost one friend recently to cancer (so aggressive that he was fine when I went away in September but died over Christmas) I am very relieved to hear that T is not only better but in the clear. All the best to both of you from [livejournal.com profile] bugshaw and me.

Thank you. And I'm so sorry about your friend. My late partner followed a similar pattern - headaches in September, diagnosed as stress, and died at Xmas. That was a brain tumour but it can be so fucking fast. The good news is that treatment is coming along in leaps and bounds - they told Trevor that an operation would have the same results as their new radio/chemo combination alone, and would possibly be less successful. It's still a brutal treatment, but it's saved his life.
