I have, previously, done a pagan version of a christening, and a funeral. This was nicely rounded off today when T and I did a handfasting at the Chalice Well. It went very well - a beautiful evening with a low sunset light. T slightly misread two lines and almost involved us in a kind of Heinlein-esque group marriage, but realised that he was about to marry all 4 participants to one another and recovered in time. Whew.

I am absolutely knackered now, despite several cups of tea in the pub. I am going to have a look at the moon - it's such a clear night that the dark of the moon is clearly visible - and then pass out.

You and me both, heart, I've done a marrying too. Couple of good friends of mine, did the legal thing at a registry office and then got me to marry them formally in a castle. Many people dressed up; some who didn't know me asked after if I was actually in holy orders. The scary thing is that too many of the congregation are LJ-users, so I'm going to shut up now, before one of them starts pointing you at photos...

LOL!

Naturally, I was not at all nervous. At all. Not even a little bit. Ahem. Is anyone believing this?

Is this the Chalice Well in Glastonbury you're talking about?

Yes, it is. Absolutely beautiful at this time of year - foxgloves, clematis and huge soft poppies all over the place.

We visited there in '95 and fell in love with the Chalice Well. Even took some water home, which we still have a bit of. A used it for various ritual things before she could make her own holy water. Very cool place.

It's a lovely space. I do some volunteering there occasionally. One of the good things about it is that they are so eclectic and welcoming to people of all different faiths and paths.
