A construction project in Scotland has been halted because it might disturb fairies.
I know they run across this a lot in Iceland - I wrote a story on it for InterZone. You can't build on top of a fairy's house. I don't know how they know that a fairy's house is there, because they are invisible, but presumably there's some kind of complaints procedure via the planning department.
