Gobi desert
Jun. 2nd, 2005 04:49 pmWell, we're in a small town called Dunhuang, having flown over the desert yesterday. Having a good trip so far - huge, empty landscape, but a surprisingly pleasant if flimsy hotel. Food is great, people are pleasant. We started out in Xi'an and have thus far seen one mosque, some ancient Buddhist caves, a bell tower, a summer palace and the terracotta army. This afternoon I wimped out of culture and got a foot massage instead. Unfeasibly stupid drinks are not happening as the local beer is like - fill in your own blanks...
