After Easter
Mar. 29th, 2005 01:07 pmNot back yet but have had a moment to log on...
Pleasant weekend with family. Yesterday we went to Malvern, celebrated by Elgar (originally comes from the Welsh Moel Fan, or 'Bald Hill'), apparently. En route, my mother spotted the Severn Bore, which is not in fact an elderly man in a pub banging on about his time at the Somme, but a large travelling wave which moves up the river Severn. It can reach up to 6 feet in height, but this was about 2. Something to do with equinoctial tides.
We finally got to see the TV adaptation of EARTHSEA - not at all impressed, unfortunately. Mum and I gave up after part one.
I am now on my way back - weather is foul.
