Still Kashgar

We're still in Kashgar - a fascinating place. Lots of winding streets filled with people hammering copper bowls, mending bikes, selling red eggs and rose tea and shampoo in twig-like lumps. Passed a sea-green teahouse and 3 men eating blackberries with tweezers.
Hotel is somewhat chaotic - the lavatory backed up this morning and the maid (who is pregnant) keeps throwing up off the balconey. Breakfast is served by a woman who clearly got sacked from a Soviet gulag for being too strict. Apart from that, it's fine. We've been eating out at what used to be the British Consulate.
