Zokuto do not seem to have paid their bills and I'm not wild about the 'potato man' word meter, so here's an alternative version. TSP is churning along and I'm aiming to do another 2K or so today, with a self-imposed deadline of Sunday night. Apart from that, I'm also about 2K up on some sample chapters. Now, however, I have to go and write something different - a business plan - and start putting the company's new database together.

I noticed that the word count was down - anyone know who runs/makes it?

No idea - the one I used was very similar but I had to adjust the numbers (they go in the 10s, and I'm aiming at 95K). Easy enough to do, though.

I know them. Have just e-mailed to find out what's up.

Thank you very much for the pointer to the counter! I'd been using the Zokotou meter on my writing journal, and had noticed before that it had gone down. A viable alternative is most welcome.

Hello from an old friend

Hi Liz - glad to have tracked down a way to send a communication :) Last time we met was at one of Andy's appearances - probably at a book review in the old Forbidden Planet! I'm behind with your books (sorry) the last I read being 'Banner of Souls'. I haven't yet caught up with the Inspector Chen books. I have loved all your books but 'Nine Layers of Sky' really blew me away! The idea that people's individual dreams are stolen for ideologies which then become corrupted is truly inspired. Obviously though I've got some catching up to do 'cos I see 'Darkland' in the list as well. Elborath has become a pretty universal net name for me now - I have a Second Life avatar with that name but you know me as Jackie Curry (remember Blackpool)? I see you are now in Glastonbury - and I hope that life has brought you new happiness. X

Jackie! This is going to sound weird, but I had a feeling you might be in touch, as I was thinking about you last week (empirically, this tends to happen...). I'm so pleased to hear from you. I am still in touch with MKK (who might read this - I know she dips into LJ). My email is: liz(at)arkady(dot)org and it would be lovely to hear from you. If you're ever in Somerset....!
