It pretty much is around here until Tuesday. It's been a strange, mild, misty day here, and I went to a druidic ritual at Stanton Drew with 49 other people - good to catch up with those of you on LJ! Back in town, the shop has had a good day with minimum problems from the Catholic Retreat, although I think someone might have holy- watered our athame cabinet, from my employee's account. There's also a group of traders' relatives going round town letting shop workers know that they're on hand if there's any trouble. You wouldn't think a Catholic youth march would bring violence and shoplifting in its wake, but you'd be wrong: apart from carnival, it's always the most problematic event of the year. I think, however, that whoever is in charge of it has had a stern word about, you know, actual Christian behaviour.

>Ah, ok, that makes more sense. I'd envisioned them as a bunch of junior John Henry Newmans, pasty bible scholars going around and raising hell with an incomprehensibly Victorian version of Catholicism

Priceless! Yes, questioning the theology of locals via some form of Hegelian dialectic...

The bloke who caused most of the trouble, who had a huge banner saying 'I LOVE JESUS' on his van, clearly hasn't got to grips with the basics of Christian doctrine. Yes, but does He love you? I know he loves everyone, but...you do wonder.
