A fairly standard writerly week:

- ploughing through the copy-edit for BLOODMIND, which must be done by the end of next week. In between there are several sets of guests, a Druidic gorsedd, and a trip to London. The copy-edit is halfway done, so I'm optimistic.

- interview for a website

- various things for FABULOUS WHITBY. Thanks to all our contributors for being so patient: you should soon be getting not only a contract, but also payment.

- various things for the Milford workshop.

- writing a friend's bio for a convention booklet.

- and starting to think about the VANISH re-write, the next set of proposals, and the next book: this is for Night Shade Press. It's called PRECIOUS DRAGON (which is the name of an actual boat: the junk that an acquaintance of mine used to own in Hong Kong. A friend was living on the next-door boat at the time and I fell in love with the Precious Dragon when she came into Deep Water Bay at sunset, huge crimson sails billowing like hibiscus blossoms. Her owner was hiring her out for chop socky movies and other stuff further up the coast, and we had a party on her). In the novel, which is about 90 pp in so far, she's a boat that sails between heaven and hell.

And I just googled, and found her!

I am now wondering whether I should get in touch with her owner and ask about using the name. No idea whether there's a copyright on boats!
