Our tech support think the laptop was dropped at some point and this is what has eventually done for it - they must be right, but I can't think when. Anyway, it has ceased to be.
The dead laptop was an iBook G4 (bought in the spring of 05). It's been suggested to me that I now go for a Macbook, and spend 60-odd quid on extra memory.
What do people think? I am a basic user, by which I mean that I use the thing for word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and...er, that's it. I don't think I need a more powerful machine and there are some cost considerations - the Air might be nice, but do folk really think it's worth it now we've had time to get to know the thing? (We had this discussion back in the winter, I know).
It has got to be a Mac. We use PCs elsewhere in the company and I can't stand the things.
