Got up, vacuumed the floor, did the laundry, made soup and cooked dinner. It's nice to be boring again. Since this is not on webcam, I should like to present an image of myself lying faintly upon a chaise, pale and wan and interesting, clad in black silk lounging pyjamas. Unfortunately, honesty compels me to admit that I am passing my sick days in a pair of hemp yoga trousers and a tomato-sauce stained t-shirt that Darrell Schweitzer made me buy, which says TIBETAN OLYMPIC CORPSE WRESTLING TEAM on it. Ah, the old left hand path!

Despite my rib, we are going to Cambridge tomorrow for the Magdalene College annual bash and - mainly - to meet up with one E. Bear, now temporarily of this parish. T has very kindly offered to drive me up so I don't have to cope with the trains, and since (to quote the dinner's organiser) 'a Fellow has obligingly dropped out', T gets to be Cindertrevor and go to the ball after all. This is nice of them as usually, one is only allowed one guest. I thought we might have to pack him off down the chippy, but knowing college food, he might have been better off...
