Figures, although I don't think lust is a sin. And there are very few people I envy (and they're not the ones with big houses and cars, either).

More controversy

R has reminded me of another stage in manufacturing controversy: the made-up letter. He says that when he was a student in Ireland in the 70s, he and his household spent a worrying amount of time making up ranting letters for the Cork Examiner ("There was none of this sex in Ireland before the Television came!!!" - Outraged Mother of Thirteen Children). Even more worrying, the Cork Examiner printed all of them. Perhaps no one else wrote in.

I plan to follow the same principles, so Locus had better keep their eyes peeled.

Weather whinging

The Brits are supposed to talk about nothing but the weather, and here am I barely mentioning it. So this is your chance to have a right old whine about how foul/cold/windy/dark it is in Blighty at the moment, because Brighton seems to have plunged back into November and I've had to put the heating on. A friend is arriving in a bit but got delayed because she had to go into the attic and find her sweaters.

OTOH, if you live in Honolulu, now is your chance to show off.
